About Mugundan!

Mugundan is an Electrical Engineering student with a strong focus on embedded systems, UAV technologies, and intelligent robotics. He has hands-on experience in designing and integrating complete electrical architectures for aerial systems. His work combines hardware design, sensor interfacing, and real-time software development to build reliable, flight-ready systems. He is passionate about solving real-world engineering problems through system-level thinking, practical experimentation, and rapid prototyping. His long-term goal is to contribute to advanced autonomous aerial systems and next-generation robotics platforms.

Current Roles:

Mugundan develops embedded control systems for UAVs and robotics, integrating Raspberry Pi and microcontroller projects with sensors like IMUs and OpenCV-based vision tracking. He led full electrical wiring and system integration for a custom VTOL aircraft and built Dropbot, a 3D-printed drone for soil hydrophobicity testing and Water Droplet Penetration Time (WDPT) measurement.

Research interests:

  • UAV design and system integration
  • Autonomous aerial navigation
  • Embedded AI and edge computing
  • Sensor fusion and state estimation

Education:

  • M.S. in Electrical Engineering - University of Nevada, Las Vegas
  • B.E. in Electronics and Communication Engineering - Anna University, Chennai
